Out of Date: Current Year Estimates and 5 Year Projections

It has been more than 5 years since the Census 2000, the most sophisticated
and comprehensive account of the demographics and the socioeconomic status of
the U.S. population. As time passes, that data is becoming more and more out of
date. To compensate, the U.S. Census Bureau releases annual population
estimates for the nation, state, and county. The Population Estimates Program
publishes estimates on demographic characteristics of age, sex, race, and
Hispanic origin. In addition, detailed economic data is released annually on
income and consumer expenditures.
