Thanks; I'll apply it soon, and port it to head if needed.  I guess it's worth 
bumping the branch to 1.4.7a now (I had been holding off, hoping 1.4.7 was 
relatively bug free), although it could very well be that I can release a 1.9b 
before branch-1_4 collects enough patches to warrant 1.4.8.
