i already had libglib1.2-dev installed. it is a really weird error. jao (mdk author) also has a debian unstable system installed, and it's runnnig for him. it is clear, that i have some problem in my box.



btw, the binary package in any debian  version is for mdk 1.0. i was trying to compile 1.0.1

libglib 1.2.10



when running ./configure the following error appears (it might be a problem of the current versions).

I don't use debian, but for my system it means installing not only libglib1.2 but also libglib1.2-devel.
If I'm correct that means installing libglib1.2-dev under debian. Not sure how to do this, maybe this pages from the debian project might help:

This happens because you are compiling GNU MDK, if you where to install an binary of GNU MDK it would be enough for you to just have libglib1.2.
There is a binary for debian on this link: http://packages.debian.org/stable/otherosfs/mdk.html
