Maybe we first need to define what we want the terms to mean
(would this warrant a wiki page ?):

Due
	due date is today

Overdue
	due date is before now
	expiry date is after now or missing

Expired
	expiry date is before now

Scheduled
	due date is set

Unscheduled
	due_date is not set

Relevant
	overdue or no due date/expiry date

Does this sound alright ?
