If you do want to check it out today you can - get a copy of the "master" git tree from github - using that upgrade the database to v23 - run the client from that without installation NOTE that this is unstable and bound to change in incompatble ways before being released so don't use it for real work. It would certainly be of great help if functionality was tested more fully before release. Also note that while you play around with git master code against a v23 database you can still run v1.8 against v22 in production on the same machine.
