No; although incorrectly installed as gnatdll, I linked that (by file system hard link) to the correctly named mingw32-gnatdll, so it should 
be found.  In any case, there's no evidence in any config.log, nor in 
my build.log, that there was any attempt to find it.

The real cause of the problem is a bogus (utterly nonsensical) test in 
libada/configure, (requiring $build == $target), which effectively 
disables building of shared Ada libraries[1]; once I remove that test,
I do get libgnat-6.dll and libgnarl-6.dll, (but corresponding import libraries are not built, because there is nothing in the corresponding 
Makefile to build them).
