quotes in command line arguments

Hi I used to run in linux and cygwin a program like this: <myprog> --title="This is the title" but in the msys shell the " seemed to be discarded, thus the previous command is interpreted as <myprog> --title=This is the title which is wrong... it works if I do <myprog> --title=\"This is the title\" is this the intended behavior? thanks Lorenzo -- Lorenzo Bettini, PhD in Computer Science, DI, Univ.
