Putting things into the header files that MS doesnt have is definatly a bad 
idea.
But having the same oldnames.lib that MS does is not.
If GCC wont work when compiled to headers that match MS, GCC is the one 
with the problem (and a patch should be sumbitted, that may just need to 
consist of a bunch of #define xxx _xxx in a common MingW header or whatever
