Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68013 (group octave):

which plot

returns
'plot' is a function from the file C:\work\bin\MATLAB\wave\sample help\plot.m

I opened up the file and saw the octave gnu preamble. Thus, this is an octave
file, but is NOT from the current octave installation. The date of the file
(circa 2022), predates the computer.

It may be that I pulled the plot function from the octave site sometime in
2022 and placed it in my path to mitigate some error back in 2022.

In a windows terminal I opened up the directory and typed dir\s and obtained
the following result.

dir \s
C:\work\bin\MATLAB\wave\sample help>dir
Volume in drive C is Windows
 Volume Serial Number is FE69-050E
