Patch looks fine from my limited perspective as a Linux user.

Are there other instances that may have escaped testing because they are
wrapped in #ifdefs for Windows systems?

I tried *hg grep -n cmd.exe* and found only the two instances that your patch
addresses.  Are there other keywords to search for?

I tried looking at *Fsystem* in *toplev.cc* and one of the paths leads to
this:


  iprocstream *cmd = new iprocstream (cmd_str.c_str ());


I don't know that eventually ends up in code that you have patched.
