It also looks like this option sequence in Matlab
mex -client engine
is equivalent in Octave to
mkoctfile --link-stand-alone
It might be nice to add a mapping for that. Or maybe it doesn't matter
because the build environments are so different that a programmer would not be
using the same code or syntax to generate files.
