Follow-up Comment #1, bug #68061 (group octave):
Attached CSET
(file bug68061_bitxxx_cpp_100.cset)
implements all bitXXX functions in C++.
As far as i can tell the functions are fully Matlab compatible (except .NET
objects, which are not supported by octave).
They also perform better than original.
As important side-effect they break backword compatibility with existing
bitXXX functions that return "logical" type rather than the "input" type, so
some functions in Octave would need a revision (cast to "logical" most
likely).
