Wasn't the pager one of Octave's unique selling points?

(the last years I didn't use it much in Octave but there were times when I was
quite happy with it.)

I just built w/o lostbard's patch from Dec 24, but that makes no difference.
So I wonder when this regression happened (must be before Xmas AFAICS).  I do
have most of my dev crossbuilds archived but didn't build very often last
year.  Later on I can try a few old ones.

In Octave-10.3.0 the pager still works fine on my PCs, with or without "legacy
console" setting in cmd32, so it must be s/th that changed in Octave itself.
