Follow-up Comment #5, bug #68237 (group octave):
@foreverallama, thank you for the explanation.
Yes it's clear that the underlying issue is missing classdef definitions, and
as I wrote there's nothing wrong with issuing a warning for it. But blindly
repeating the warning message for -in this specific case- hundreds, but in
other cases potentially thousands or more array elements, is what made me
enter this bug report.
TTBOMK adding at least a warning ID should be an easy fix; I suppose there are
examples galore in the Octave sources. Pimping the warning mechanism to limit
the nr. of messages for the same issue can wait AFAIC. But:
Another related annoyance is that loading such files cannot be interrupted
with Ctrl-C, forcing one to sit and wait until all the warnings have been
emitted.
In the mean time I'll upload the zipped file. TBH, I never realized that is
it a "type 5" MAT file, which in hindsight also explains why the Matlab-based
program I mentioned always took ages to save files with lots of data (and
produced surprisingly huge data files).
(Oh and I see that Savannah's upload file size limit is 4 Mb these days, IIRC
it used to be much smaller.)
