When compiling Octave with ARPACK, evaluating
norm(sparse(100,100),2)
leads to the error
error: eigs: error in dsaupd: Starting vector is zero
In prevous version of Octave (pre Wed Jan 14 13:07:31 2026 -0500) or without
ARPACK, the correct "0" is returned.
The bug is introduced by the git-commit (sorry, but git it more convinient for
me): 34a0b9e9bcaa633b6b50a720488fac3044a104d2
