Follow-up Comment #4, bug #68282 (group octave):

One problem is that oracle stopped distributing JRE and now pushes full SDK.
I recommend getting Java SDk 25
https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/#jdk26-windows
(long term release) or 26 if you want to leave on the cutting edge.

I had to add PATH to its `bin` directory manually for Octave to recognize it.
