Follow-up Comment #8, bug #68350 (group octave):

I think a controlled termination is better than a hard crash.  I don't know
enough which java version is adequate.  Now with jdk23, version -java gives:

Java 23.0.2+7-58 with Oracle Corporation Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
mixed mode, sharing
