Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68347 (group octave):

This implies that the newly created ini-file is not the default one, but still
holds some of your individual settings, like, e.g., state of command and
workspace widget?
 
I have tested a recent 12.0.0. version on Debian and can not confirm the
issues. Maybe it is a problem with the Flatpak version? Are you able to build
octave yourself?
