Follow-up Comment #6, bug #68441 (group octave):

The change is probably OK but I would like to know what change caused the
problem between version 9 and 10.  I'm trying to bisect now to find the
change.

I'm also wondering whether there are any other places where we could
incorrectly consume the marker.

And, should we consistently use '\001' instead of static_cast<char>(1) in
lex.ll?
