What Core does it detect if you do:
$ OPENBLAS_VERBOSE=2 octave
It should print something like "Core: Zen"
Than try
OPENBLAS_VERBOSE=2 OPENBLAS_CORETYPE=core2 octave
Do you get "Core: Core2"?
Wo you get crash with Core2?
