Follow-up Comment #3, bug #68492 (group octave):=0A=0AMATLAB gives the same=
result. The ASCII code for '1' is 49, which is why=0AA('1') produces this =
outcome. I tested a few other common symbols, and it=0Alooks like only the =
colon shows column=E2=80=94everything else just maps to their=0AASCII codes=
