Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68603 (group octave):
Thanks for the pointer, though it is about an unrelated issue (C++20 support
in upcoming Octave 12, while Debian is at Octave 11).
Note that the patch for parallel that was applied to MXE likely does not fix
the present issue, because it does not remove the outdated m4 macro.
That one, by itself, is enough to break compilation with GCC 16.
