[bug #68594] Regression in MAT-file loading breaks GUIDE applications

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #68594 (group octave):

To reproduce the setprops() problem, run the attached Octave script. It opens
a figure containing a pushbutton. With changeset 35014:1544079a994a, as well
as with the current tip of the default branch, this results in:

error: set: new children list must be a permutation of existing children with
visible handles

With previous changesets, the same code opens the figure with the pushbutton
as expected.
