Installing and compiling third party tools like mex-mariadb often is 
easier on GNU/Linux.

I don't see any problem yet. Try to focus on Ubuntu if this is okay for 
you and not to switch forth and back beetween questions/problems on 
Windows and Ubuntu.

And please try to use english (although german is my mother language)
