Error message

Octave is running on Ubuntu 22.04.
This error message is generated when trying to plot,

eml_allow_mx_inputs


here is an example of the script

x = -10:0.1:10;plot (x, sin (x));xlabel ("x");ylabel ("sin (x)");title
("Simple 2-D Plot");

Any help would be appreciated
