Octave GUI API

Hello folks!
Greetings to all.

I would like to know if any 'standards'
are in place for a Octave GUI API?
Im writing Octave-GTK, and want to know

If I must expose users to raw GTK API
from Octave, or provide an extra layer 
like the scilab like GUI API ? Should
I support handle graphics ? Well I dont
know, or wish to decide if you can give
me opinions.


If Octave GUI API has been discussed,
please point me there.

Lets make a next generation Octave.
