Octave + Plot for Mac OS

It's alright for quick plots, but when it comes =20 to publication-quality output, I'm wondering what I should use. I've =20 thought of the following: - svg terminal, edit in inkscape: probably good for fancy effects, =20 but not adapted for regular use - xfig terminal, or epslatex terminal, I'm stuck in converting the =20 eps to pdf for use with pdflatex while using latex tags (psfrag package) - aqua terminal (what i use for everyday graphs), alright but quite =20 limited (no visual interaction possible, no latex inclusion) I've discovered a nice Mac application, Plot, < http://plot.micw.eu =20 >, which provides very nice and useful layout possibilities, * manual adjustment of curve styles, labels, titles, ... possibility =20 to add LaTeX images (from LaTeXit or Equation editor,...) * simple calculations and graph modifications (area under curve, =20 basic fitting, set range, offset curves, subtract linear trend, ...) * ... in summary, very much like the Matlab advanced graph editing window. =20 It's a freeware, with possibility of writing Perl filters and macros, =20= and the developer seems very responding. I've come to think that =20 having this application as a new enhanced terminal" would be very =20 useful (though Mac specific, I'm afraid, but so is Gnuplot's =20 aquaterm). In the most basic sense, that would mean: - provide some basic interaction to pass data, labels, title from =20 Octave to Plot and obviously further improvements would be, - extend the number of options to be passed (point size, line style, =20 grid and tics,...) - to link back Plot to Octave (providing more advanced calculation =20 power) I know this is not a multi platform general front end solution for =20 Octave, but as far as Mac users are concerned it would blow out Grace =20= and Gnuplot high quality terminals,.
