Re: Octave + Plot for Mac OS

Well it's looks very nice. It too (like gnuplot & grace) is much more
than a terminal in a sense that it provides high level function like
FFT & splines.

I see 2 problems concerning it's use in octave

1) its free but not Free, and it looks closed-source, so we would be
locking ourselves into a proprietary format over which we have no
influence
2) You need someone to write up the interface. Since it's a coca only
application, this would mean someone with access to a Mac. This, I
think, greatly reduces you developer base, and means you would have to
do it almost on your own.

On the bright side, octave is moving towards a split of the actual
graphics application from the core graphics functions, so in theory it
should become easier to incorporate new "terminals"
