Looking other free sci-packs, i found CERN ROOT as a C++ framewo= rk=20 for data analysis, plotting and user interfacing. It could be an opportun= ity=20 to use this library an save large amounts of development time, once Octav= e=20 is built in C++, and thus we can have a Matlab-like frontend for this=20 system. It would be useful for both communities: The octave one could get= an=20 "almost done" upgrade on Octave capabilities, and the ROOT one would not=20 have to learn all the C++ stuff to get your work done, simply by using th= e=20 more direct language of Octave.
