I'm not real familiar with ImageMagick so can't help in that department.

Are you familiar with gnuplot?  And familiar with the process of 
downloading and compiling an application like gnuplot?

What exactly do you mean by 3d?  It sounds to me as though you want to 
make a time evolution of something.
