Sorry - I was not aware that the thread ID is kept in some hidden mail header... And I did not know of any mcgyver stuff for octave yet. I started this with https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=45907 in https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?55287 However - the questions remains, wether to introduce a compatible version to the octave core.
