Hello,

I'm the maintainer of the GNU Source Release Collection (GSRC), for
which I maintain build scripts for all GNU packages. I encountered a
very large number of problems getting Oleo to build. Most of the
problems are related to deprecated Autoconf, Automake and gnulib
usage. Fortunately, I found that the maintainer of the Debian package
for Oleo has built up a large patch file which fixes all of these
problems.

Would it be possible to apply these patches and do a new release which
at least builds properly, even if it doesn't have any new features?

You can find the patch in the GSRC source tree:
http://bzr.savannah.gnu.org/lh/gsrc/trunk/annotate/head:/gnu/oleo/files/oleo-1.99.16-debian-patches.diff

Please let me know if you need any information from me.

Thanks!
