this solved my problem :)

everything works fine now. 
Even delegation of printing "hello world" to gnu-prolog engine works
fine :) 

In addition, even using selfmade compilation  of gnu-prolog-1.2.8  works
fine :?   The problem was the pre-compiled version 1.2.8 (no idea why)
