Cygwin compilation problem

...may have had something to do with the fact that I was trying to install it 
in a directory path containing spaces. I moved it to another directory and it 
installed OK.

While I'm writing, I know this is not really a bug, but can anyone tell me how 
to increase the limit that gives rise to 
representation_error(too_many_variables) ??
