fd2c compilation failing

I am on a soalaris box running gcc 4.3.3, and compilation aborts on 
fd2c.pl, looking over the archives I have tried several different 
things, none of which seem to work(including setting 
-fno-strict-aliasing). Any suggestions on what to do here?
