Problems with Fedora 3

I recently re-built my application server and installed Fedora core 3.

I found I could not get gnu prolog to install via make, I got 
compilation errors, so I loaded the RPM package.

That installed OK and the interpreter seems to work properly.

When I came to compile my prog it also bombed with multiple "undefined 
reference to `__ctype_b'" errors.

It all work perfectly on my previous Redhat 9 server so I was wondering 
if anyone could suggest what the issue might be.
