This has been fixed long ago. The link to CAN-2004-0849 notice from the above 
mentioned page explicitely lists the affected versions. See also version 1.3 
announce at http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/info-gnu/2004-11/msg00009.html.

The port maintainer should certainly pay more attention to his job.
