what happened to --enable-securid option ?

Hi,
 
I am using radius - 0.96.4 which has the --enable-securid option in the configure script from the source, however it seems to be not present in 1.4 (recent stable release).
After looking into the code also, auth-type of 'SecurID' is not supported anymore. May I know why this option has been removed in 1.4 and are there any chances of getting it back ?
