The FAQ says, "The RCS configuration and build must be done as a non-root user." It should probably say that the files need to be unpacked by the non-root user, too. Without this mentioned, the person will run into file permission issues. This oversight may or may not be obvious to the user after seeing the following Makefile and shell error messages: /bin/sh -x ./conf.sh 3>&1 >a.h 2>conf.err sh: a.h: cannot create *** Error code 1 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `conf.h' /a Quoting "Namazhwar, Baskar" <[email protected]>: > Hi, > I have tried to install rcs5.7.tar on my solaris10. > But I am getting make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all' > And I need solution when it returns conf.sh doesnot need super user > permission > > I am expecting your reply > Its urgent > Please > > Thankyou > Regards > Baskar.N > -- Computer Systems Specialist Leicester Central School Barstow Memorial School Rutland Northeast School District
