Spawning a process into a new Screen window programmatically

Hi, Is there a way for an already running process to spawn another process in a new screen window? This is required so that both the processes can be individually controlled from two windows, but the second process can only be spawned once the first process reaches a certain stage in execution. Any ideas on how this can be achieved using screen will be very helpful.
