Yes, that isn't the problem. I've searched for the file "osdef.h" and there isn't any package in Ubuntu that provides it. But in screen-4.0.3 (tar package from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/screen/) there is this file (osdef.h) in sources but not in git version.
