that's very encouraging for anyone trying to use cygwin (and possibly the
old-cygwin-derived interix/microsoft "services for unix".) one thing i
found useful when i was forced to use windows in the past was to set
the CYGWIN environment variable in my windows user profile and in the
cygrunsrv environment for sshd, and make sure its value included the
word "tty".
the other thing that seemed to help was to disable all the cygwin-conditional
code in screen. that stuff seemed specific to some older version of the
cygwin console driver, and mainly caused problems on newer revs of the
console and over ssh connections.
after that i applied the cygwin permissions patch posted to this list some
time back, and everything worked fairly well, although i did sometimes see
reattach failures, mostly after trying to start non-cygwin processes from
inside the screen process (which does not really work, at least with that
version of cygwin.)
