hardstatus firstline patch

I have posted a patch at http://www.brainshell.org/patches/ that adds
a firstline option to the hardstatus command, just because I think the
status looks better at the top of the screen.

This patch may conflict with the vertical split patch being considered,
but a quick analysis should show how to resolve them.
