The standard way to do this, though, is to do a screenshot of the terminal window within which screen is running. Are you unable to do this? For color textfiles, there's always the "script" command; however, catting the results of that will be highly terminal-dependent, and unless you use timings, will contain all of the text and sequences from before the final state of the screen, but will only display the final state of the screen. -- Micah J.
