So it'd just be the term-emulator/PNG-generator program that'd need to be written. I actually find the project to be a bit of a fun proposal, and find that to be something of an incentive already. However, I'm not sure it's _enough_ of an incentive: it'd be a lot of work. I'm something of a terminal-and-ISO-2022 sequence obsessive, which is why it'd be fun. But if barely anyone were using it, well... :) At any rate, it will take some work, and my time is somewhat limited (especially since I may be taking over as maintainer of a GNU project, which should eat up whatever available time I now have).
