Anyways, thanks for the tip on redefining the main meta character.. with multiple buffers, and a way to search all screen buffers, I'd be in 'screen heaven'. Another nice thing might be a way to move to a buffer via typing only part of the window name, instead of doing <C-a>" and searching through the list.. Ed
