dear gnu people,

after taking a break and trying some more i have succeeded to operate
the test command correctly. i know some of the mistakes i made, but
still don't quite understand why it works now. but it does. i'm terribly
sorry for bothering you. regard these mails as irrelevant. this is now
also irrelevant: i have the bash version 2.05a
