I think I know what's going on: it is probably due to a rule I added in the Makefile specific for .hpp files that are generated using doublecpp (http://doublecpp.sourceforge.net) and those rules, if that tool is not found, simply touches the corresponding file... I hadn't considered that also boost header files use .hpp!
