One of Stow's maintainers may wish to add more information. Sorry for the incredibly slow response. Somehow I missed this mail when it first came around. But anyway thanks a lot for replying - your response is spot on. I don't know why the old 1.3.3 version of the manual was still there but I've removed it to avoid further confusion.
