wc bug

on Linux Red Hat 7.3, Kernel:  2.4.7-10

when executing : "wc -l file_name"
the result is:       "       9 file_name"

there are 9 lines in the files, so the number is legal.
but, the file name should not be printed as part of the output of the wc
command (as far as i know)
